| Click here for photo | The 7th Brownies of Powell River, BC, cleaned up Palm Beach. This beach is used by lots of Powell River residents. By cleaning up the beach the Brownies not only reduced the amount of marine debris which could kill wildlife and injure beachgoers, but they also "pitched-in" to help clean up their local environment. |

Club members cleaned up the Vedder River Rotary Trail. After a hot-dog barbeque,
the 13 club members divided the trail into three sections, with Leaders and parents
accompanying each team. During their clean-up they saw a heron, a rabbit, a dead lizard and lots of other interesting things. Unfortunately they also found Dairy Queen containers, coffee cups and cigarette packages! |

in Ottawa developed 'monster munchers' to encourage students to recycle.
Work started in September and included initial drawings, plasticine models, creation of
wire armatures, papier mache coverings and, finally, painting! The result became the focus
of a school assembly to explain how recycling works. |
