The 20-Minute Makeover is a ‘catchy’ slogan. Where it has been introduced, this activity has been a helpful additional activity and tool to promote other activities taking place during PITCH-IN CANADA Week. Participation in PITCH-IN CANADA Week and PITCH-IN activities throughout the year can raise community morale, be used towards qualifying for recognition under other community beautification programs or awards (such as The National Civic Pride Recognition Program; The Clean World Award; Communities in Bloom; etc…) and promote a positive partnership between local government, businesses and the community.

A clean and beautiful community is also an asset which many communities use to attract tourism as well as economic activity. It makes sense to develop your PITCH-IN programs and activities in cooperation with your community’s Tourism and Economic Development Committee as well as your Chamber of Commerce. A clean and beautiful environment is an important aspect of a community to companies looking for a place to locate their office or plant.
