the PITCH-IN Program. They also prove that it only takes a few people working
together to get the ball rolling to improve their environment -

- Early Pioneers - The "Victorian" Era

- Shoreline Clean-Ups and emphasis on reducing
waste entering oceans (1967)
- Expansion across British Columbia (1969-)
- Ecology Clubs of Canada Program Initiated
(1969-) later changed to ecoActive School Program
- Expansion across Alberta (1972-)
- PITCH-IN's launch in Saskatchewan (1974-)
- Great Support in Manitoba (1975-)
- "Adopt" a Highway, Block, Park,
Neighbourhood Program Developed (1975-)
- Developing the Program in Ontario (1979-)
- Going National (1988)
- Launch of International Coastal Clean-Up in
Canada
- Development with Environment Canada of The
National Debris Surveillance Program
- Working with EPIC to promote reduction of
plastics entering Canada's river, lake and ocean waterways
- Special Projects undertaken by PITCH-IN (Clunker
Week, Participation in the Nanaimo Bathtub Races, Edmonton Klondike Days etc...)
- The PITCH-IN Symbol trademarked (1976)
- Establishment of Clean World International (1976-)
- Original founding supporter of the UN's Clean Up The World Program
(1991-)
- Civic Pride Program for Local Governments
Introduced and Civic Pride trademark registered (1991-)
- National Cell Phone Collection Program
Launched (2004-)
- OPERATION: Clean Sweep becomes theme
and trademark of annual PITCH-IN Week (2005)
